Come and join us for this fantastic event with UBSWPC discussing eating disorders and competitive sports.  ALL MONEY  GOES DIRECTLY TO BEAT - THE  UK'S LARGEST EATING DISORDER CHARITY There is a 20% higher prevalence rate of disordered eating among athletes, and it's time this was spoken about so that proper guidelines can be put in place and people can get effective and timely treatment - allowing them to reach their full potential both in sports and elsewhere.  We will be bringing you statistics from our very own university students alongside recent clinical studies, we will hear three powerful personal journeys of Bristol students who have different experiences of eating disorders and competitive sports, and we will be joined by Renee McGregor (and Nicky Keay) from Train Brave.

Train Brave aims to inspire atheletes to share their stories and raise awarness for the risks of EDs and RED-s, provide more resources to athletes, and empower coaches and clubs to offer more support to athletes by  creating an ongoing discussion around this  growing issue. The evening will close with a panel, featuring members of univeristy staff, sports teams and coaches, giving you the opportunity to ask your  questions and have your voice heard. The more we can talk about eating disorders, the more we can take away their power. So join  us  this May, in saying 'Hey it's OK... To talk about eating disorders'
