Ottawa Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees, in conjunction with Chartered Professional Accountants Canada (CPA Canada), invites you to a learning session on how you can protect yourself against fraud. This 90-minute session will be presented in English by a finance professional who is also a CPA volunteer and who will use material developed by CPA Canada.  The subjects and tools that will be covered are: Subjects: understand what fraud is and how it works learn how to identify the signs of fraud and how to act on suspicions learn about the top three scams understand why seniors are targeted know what to do if you are a victim of fraud general information for: Equifax Trans Union Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Scams and Fraud) Federal Trade Commission Identity Theft Hotline Tools: the Fight Spam Quiz — tests knowledge of identity theft and fraud the Identity Theft and Identity Fraud Victim Assistance Guide (CAFC) - explains in further detail about the crime and what to do if victimized  The workshop will be in English but participation in both official languages is encouraged.

You will receive your ticket via e-mail.  Remember to bring your ticket with you.    Please use the free underground parking.
